Kissing Under The Mistletoe 101:

Just for the record (in case you are wondering), kissing under the mistletoe is not just about pervy guys snagging a kiss from a pretty lady in a short dress and high heels.  You can usually spot those types by their choice of sweater and the amount of hair gel they use.

Now before you go trying to lock lips and slobbering all over somebody's face, hanging mistletoe, and selecting who the unknowing participant is going to be - you need to do a little prep work.  This means being hygienic, well-dressed and all-round charming.  You’re only going to get kissed if she wants too.  So remember, if you are looking all nappy, wearing wrinkled up clothes, your hair looks like you just rolled out of bed, your breath smells rank, and you acting all Joe Cool - YOU Ain't Gonna Get A Kiss - She gonna think You Nasty.

So now that we got that out of the way;  Let me explain to you the most important rule for kissing under the mistletoe - and that is to make it seem spontaneous.  If you lurk up under the mistletoe (you know, like hanging out there all day) smiling and gawking at every woman who comes near the mistletoe - you ain't going to get nowhere.  And putting it in places where you think you are being clever - that don't work either.  We didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, we might have been born one day - but it wasn't yesterday -  Dude we will see right through you.

You have to just hang it in a normal place - and you have got to “accidentally” (you know without intention) bump into someone.  And also remember if this is repeated too many times - "You WILL Look Suspicious".  Just Saying...

So here's a little fact to remember about the mistletoe tradition.  This gives you authenticity, and is also important.  The rule is that a berry should be removed from the mistletoe each time a kiss occurs.  So, once all the berries are gone there can be no more kisses.  So therefore choosing a sprig abundant with berries is most imperative.

Then again, if all else fails try some wine because, as they say in Hungary “there’s no such thing as an ugly person", just not enough alcohol.”

All the above rules and guidelines are just as valid for women who are seeking to get kisses at Christmas.  Mistletoe is an equal opportunities employer/employee.
